A di Alessi Anna G Corkscrew, Yellow, (AAM01 Y)
originally presented as a mascot for the alessi/philips marketing operation, the anna g corkscrew soon proved to be one of alessi's most popular pieces. its distinctive human-like features quickly brought it to the public's attention, to the extent that the year after it appeared it was followed by a whole family of similar objects! one of alessi's most popular objects since her introduction in 1993, anna g has become both an icon for alessi as well as her designer, alessandro mendini. she functions brilliantly as a corkscrew, allowing the user to twist her head to implant the corkscrew which is cleverly concealed under her dress and, using her arms as leverage, to extract the cork from the bottle (which magically appears to go up her dress!) beloved by all and is an absolutely "cannot-go-wrong-with-this-as-a-gift" for anybody or any occasion. designed by alessandro mendini for alessi - its a must for really chic kitchens! height: 24.5cms
